Marco Giampaolo has warned Catania that today's opponents Inter “will punish us at the very first mistake.”

The Elefantini famously defeated Jose Mourinho's side at the Massimino last season, but welcome a team fired up by the arrival of new Coach Leonardo.

“We have to start the match on the right foot and with the right approach,” said Giampaolo.

“Inter have great players accustomed to more than one game a week, whereas we cannot say the same thing.

“A good start is crucial, as is being prepared mentally to avoid even the slightest lapse in concentration, because Inter will punish us at the very first mistake.

“Physicality is their most important characteristic and they are clinical, even if the team isn't always spectacular.”

Catania were furious on Thursday when refereeing errors contributed to their 4-2 defeat at Roma and a protest is planned by supporters today.

“We must immediately put that game behind us,” insisted the Coach. “I have faith in the referee and that is enough for me. The club made its voice heard and did what it had to. I just want to see the same determination as the Roma match from my men.”
