Emanuele Giaccherini has applauded the efforts of Genoa for putting his Juventus side under pressure on Sunday.

The Rossoblu took the lead in the Marassi encounter and had other chances to score, but the Old Lady hit back after the break to collect a 3-1 win.

“We were put under a great deal of pressure and Genoa deservedly went ahead,” the Italian international stated.

“They could have even doubled their lead, but we rode our luck and emerged as a different side after the break.

“In these first three championship games we’ve lost a bit of the intensity that made us stand out last year, but we’re only in the opening stages of the season.

“We’re working to get back to playing at those levels from the very first minute.”

The game turned thanks to a fine Giaccherini goal following a swift counter-attack by the Italian champions.

“I followed the move because we set off on the break and the Coach asks us to break forward as much as possible,” the 27-year-old noted.

“The goal was nice, but above all I’m happy about the victory. It was an extremely important result for us.”

Juventus have a 100 per cent record in Serie A, along with Napoli, Lazio and Sampdoria, after winning all three of their League games so far.
