Reports in Italy have confirmed that the Ivorian forward Gervinho has returned to training with Parma ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Sassuolo.

The 32-year-old had been left out of the squad after trying to force a move to Al-Sadd at the end of January, when the former Roma star skipped training for three days.

He reportedly apologised for his behaviour and Roberto D’Aversa will now have the winger back at his disposal at the Ennio Tardini.

The Corriere dello Sport reported that the situation might have been resolved after a meeting between the player and the team, and now both Alfredo Pedulla from SportItalia and SportParma write that Gervinho has returned to the fold.

Gervinho attended training with his colleagues today and could provide Parma a vital boost in the last months of the campaign.

The Crociati are currently ninth in Serie A and are fighting for a place in Europe next term, as only two points separate them from sixth-placed Hellas Verona after 23 games.
