In an interview with Il Secolo XIX, the toy magnate has explained that his side have made some significant savings during the summer transfer window.

“We wanted to put our accounts in order and improve the quality of the squad,” Preziosi has commented today.

“We managed to, lowering the total wage bill by around €20m. We have laid the foundations to make this an even stronger club.”

Preziosi acquired the Grifone in 2003, taking them from Serie B into the top flight and is proud of his financial prudence.

“We have spent €1.5m, received around €16m and reduced our total spent on wages from €54m to €36m.”
