Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirmed he has a deal in place for Uruguayan hitman Sebastian Ribas.

“We are buying Ribas,” the patron told Radio Incontro this evening. “He is a 23-year-old Uruguayan striker with an Italian passport and you can say we're sealing the deal.”

Ribas is out of contract with Ligue 2 side Dijon, where he has scored 20 goals this season.

He has a past in Italian football with both Inter and Serie C outfit Spezia.

“What else will Genoa do over the transfer market? It depends on if the top five really do decide not to do business with the smaller clubs. If that's the case, then the market will be more prudent.”

Preziosi also commented on the future bench, as Davide Ballardini seems certain to be axed.

“I said I'd shock you all, but the truth is I haven't decided yet. I will announce the name of the new Coach at the end of this season.”
