The number of cases in Italy spiked over the last 48 hours and as of this morning the latest figures are 132 diagnosed, 26 of those in intensive care. There have been two fatalities.

Late Saturday night, the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and the Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora announced the suspension of all sporting events in Lombardy and Veneto, the regions with the highest number of cases.
Torino-Parma was also called off this morning, so four Serie A matches have been cancelled today, specifically Inter–Sampdoria, Atalanta–Sassuolo and Verona–Cagliari.
Genoa-Lazio did go ahead in the early kick-off and Grifone director of sport Marroccu is concerned.
“We have the utmost respect for the decision made by the authorities, but the request we could make would be to ensure uniformity of the tournament,” Marroccu told DAZN.
“Therefore, if the situation does not change, they might do better to suspend all of Serie A during the Coronavirus outbreak rather than just a few games here and there.”
