The Rossoneri beat Inter in the Coppa Italia in midweek, but have lost their previous two Serie A games, and they travel to the Artemio Franchi for tomorrow’s early kick-off.

“I’m not a magician,” Gattuso cautioned, when asked if the derby win could represent a turning point for his squad.

“It was a very difficult game, but we need to take it a game at a time. We need to keep working and displaying the attitude I’m seeing in this period.

“We want to finish this first half of the season in a better way.

“Fiorentina? They carry the ball very well, and they’re well organised. They play 3-5-2, they move very well up-front and they’re well coached.

“They don’t concede many goals, they’re a team that controls the pitch well and play a nice style of football.”

Gattuso’s predecessor, Vincenzo Montella, has taken over at Sevilla and the Coach was asked about the possibility of meeting him in Europe in the next year or two.

“I’d sign up for that 1000 times. I wish him a huge ‘good luck’. I had a great relationship with him over these months, I have huge respect for him as a man and as a Coach.”
