"Winning is all that counts at Inter," he stated. "I came to Appiano Gentile to get to know everyone and the training complex gave me the impression that we can work well here.
"Our preparations for the new season will start on Sunday, but we've been ready for 10 days. The idea is to have a great campaign."
One of the biggest unknowns about Gasperini's Inter is whether they will play in the tactician's recognised 3-4-3 shape.
"I already have an idea of how I want my side," added the tactician who was sacked by Genoa last year.
"I could use a three-man defence. Udinese” data-scaytid=”11″>Udinese and Napoli expressed some good football last season with such a system.
"It's a possible solution, not a must, and I have a squad that can play in different formations."
Gasperini is Inter's third Coach since Jose Mourinho left in 2010 with the Champions League trophy.
"No, Mourinho hasn't sent me any message, but we didn't see each other that often. He's a great Coach for me, not just in terms of character but also tactically.
"I'm not looking to the past, though, but to the future. You have to win here, that is the objective and we have to immediately find the right mentality."
The questions then turned to his current players and possible new arrivals – starting with Premiership target Wesley Sneijder.
"Inter are a very strong side and [director] Marco Branca has done some very good work over these years.
"Sneijder is an excellent player. We'll see what occurs, a lot of things can happen between now and the end of the market.
"I think there's every intention on the club's part to come out of the transfer window stronger, not less so.
"All the players that I have know how to play in many different roles. Last year Sneijder also played in different positions."
Reports today suggest that Inter have done a deal for Velez ace Ricky Alvarez.
"Alvarez is a good player, but he's not an Inter player. I can only really talk about confirmed Inter players, even if he would be an important addition to an already strong side.
"Genoa's Rodrigo Palacio? You'll have to ask Branca about that. He's a player that Inter like and I was in a position to admire him."
The former Juventus” data-scaytid=”20″>Juventus youth team boss was then asked for his thoughts on the latest Calciopoli revelations.
"I'm just thinking about the on-field matters. This Giacinto Facchetti situation is different, hurtful," he commented.
"But I need to think about the football and that can help to cancel everything else out. People like goals and games, that's what I need to focus on."
