“It’s a new situation for everyone and can be a return to some sort of normality, even if things have changed so much,” said the coach in his press conference.
“We hope that we can give some contribution to that. The extent of what happened in Bergamo is difficult to comprehend, let alone react to. It turned everything upside down and we won’t know for a while why the virus was so aggressive here. Hopefully, the fans can soon return to the stadium too.”
This is a rescheduled Week 25 fixture that was postponed in February, so a win would put Atalanta six points clear of Roma in fourth place.
“Every game is going to be decisive from now on, as there are 13 to go and that’s a lot of points. Everything is up for grabs, it’s going to be very interesting,” continued Gasperini.
“There are so many doubts and new situations, including playing in June and July, so we’ll learn who adapts best to the circumstances. We’ve never faced a situation like this and it’s a new adventure for us.”
