Gian Piero Gasperini is confident the Palermo fans can help them recover against Chievo after a chaotic few days.

The Sicilians brought in new general manager Pietro Lo Monaco and parted company with director Giorgio Perinetti just weeks after sacking Coach Giuseppe Sannino.

“I realise we are at a low ebb at the moment, but the Palermo fans unite in difficult times and can give us even more,” said new boss Gasperini.

“Chievo are tough opponents, but playing at the Stadio Barbera will provide the right push from the crowd to get us going.

“I am very eager to do well here, both for the city and to prove I am still worth something as a Coach. When we put in performances like the ones we’ve had recently, then our confidence has to grow.”

Palermo have certainly created numerous chances, but are struggling to score with Fabrizio Miccoli not 100 per cent fit and Abel Hernandez off form.

“Hernandez had some incredible scoring opportunities and a goal would really help him, but he was a whisker away from becoming a hero.

“Miccoli had pain in training. He is a world class player and when he is fit, then without doubt he will play.”

Palermo squad for Chievo: Benussi, Brichetto, Ujkani; Cetto, Garcia, Labrin, Mantovani, Morganella, Munoz, PisanoBarreto, Bertolo, Brienza, Donati, Giorgi, Ilicic, Kurtic, Rios, Viola; Budan, Dybala, Hernandez, Miccoli
