After the match, it was put to the Coach by Sky that the captain is his side’s Ronaldo.

“Yes, we could say that,” Gasperini conceded.

Thursday sees Atalanta face FC Copenhagen in the Europa League, as they seek to qualify for the Europa League.

“There are a lot of commitments and we’re missing the most important thing, which is reaching the Europa League groups.

“We’re facing a team which finds itself in the Europa League, but has always previously competed in the Champions League.

“We’re motivated, but we know it’s not easy.”
