“The game with Udinese gave us three precious points and a bump up the table. It also allowed us to have a good week without pressure, but we know the campaign is still long,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We overtook a few teams, got closer to others, but it remains a very tight table. Situations can change very quickly and we need to get some more results away from home.

“Chievo are an excellent side and above all a very tough team to beat. It will be a real battle out there. They missed Alberto Paloschi when he left for Swansea in January, but now Antonio Floro Flores is settling in.

“The problem with Serie A being such a balanced league is that you can dominate a match and still not win, which almost happened to us last week.”

Tim Matavz joined Genoa mid-season and is still looking for his debut Serie A goal.

“I am very happy with the way he’s training. He has quality and can improve physically. It requires a little patience.”

Cristian Ansaldi and Giovanni Marchese return to the squad, but Ezequiel Munoz is injured and Armando Izzo suspended.
