Fiorentina defender Alessandro Gamberini has outlined his plans for the future – as a player and then potentially as a Coach.

“We’re a strong side because the squad is healthy. I believe in the project at Fiorentina and I want to stay,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.

“Actually, I want to finish my playing days at this club and then it is my hope to become the Bologna boss.”

Gamberini, 30, started his career with hometown club Bologna before he moved to Florence in the summer of 2005.

While with the Viola, he’s won eight caps at full international level – his last coming in Italy’s 2-0 loss to the Republic of Ireland in June 2011.
