Saint-Etienne Coach Cristophe Galtier insists his side are “underdogs” against Lazio in the Europa League tomorrow.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday at 18.00 UK time (17.00 GMT).
“The defeat to Nice at the weekend was not the best way to prepare for Lazio, but we will be ready to face a great opponent,” said Galtier in a Press conference.
“Last season against Inter twice and once with Lyon, we used the three-man defence, but I haven’t decided on our tactics yet. There will be many changes from the side that played with Nice.
“Italian football is back to a very interesting level and Juventus are a very strong side who really sparked the upwards trend.
“Lazio are very strong and were in the Champions League preliminary round, so it’s clear they are among the elite of Italian football.
“Their strike force is the main strength, as they are young and all have quality. We are the underdogs but will step on to the field with humility and the desire to win.”
Lazio fans are once again protesting against the club and very few tickets have been sold for this game.
“It’s a pity for football to see this wonderful stadium so empty. The Europa League is considered important in France.”
