The incidents occurred after the final whistle of a 2-1 victory in the Derby della Capitale on May 24 2015.

Today the FIGC released a statement confirming that the Disciplinary Commission would take action against De Rossi, with Roma also potentially fined for his behaviour.

“At the end of the Serie A game Lazio-Roma, Daniele De Rossi celebrated by aiming a clear offensive and provocative gesture towards the opposition fans.”

This included a rude gesture aimed at his crotch and “holding up both arms with his middle finger extended, in an offensive and mocking attitude, the kind of behaviour that could qualify as incitement to violence.”
