In Florence on Monday to be inaugurated into the Italian Football Hall of Fame for his leadership work in the game, Milan's Vice-President Galliani was asked by reporters of the Rossoneri’s reported interest in the wantaway Argentinean forward.
This followed an earlier report on Monday from La Gazzetta dello Sport. They ran quotes from Galliani that suggested that Manchester City had given him permission to speak with the player's representatives, but that official negotiations with the club had not yet begun.
Whilst still refusing to confirm in Florence if talks with the English club have begun, Galliani also cryptically refused to this time deny so too.
“Tevez? Do not make me tell lies on the day I am being awarded. We will talk about it in the next few days.”
Galliani was more forthcoming, though, in reflecting on Milan’s recent good form that saw them briefly top the table over the weekend.
“We have made a great recovery, we picked up 22 points in eight games, it could have been 24 points but we couldn’t do it. After the defeat to Juventus” data-scaytid=”17″>Juventus we were at least six points behind, now we are just two.
“The championship is very long, we’ll see [what happens]. However, Juve are earning first place, they are playing very well.”
