The deal for the Chile international is still some way off, despite negotiations dragging on for weeks.

According to Chilean newspaper El Mercurio, Cesare Prandelli’s Galatasaray have leapt into the lead with a new offer worth up to €12m.

Inter are currently only prepared to go up to €9m, but they have the important all-clear from the player.

Sky Sport Italia maintain Cardiff City have drawn up new terms, as they want €8m plus €1m in performance-related bonuses rather than the previously-agreed €7m plus €2m add-ons.
