“I don’t think the expression ‘a fresh start’ is accurate, because for me it’s just getting back to being happy and able to play,” the 21-year-old told Mediaset Premium.

“This is the most important thing for every player and I didn’t have that before. I was always pushed to one side.

“When I arrived at Inter, the Coach spoke to me, but there were so many changes of management in a short space of time. The club was not going through a positive time, so they preferred experienced players, and I understood that.

“They never gave me a chance to play, not even five games in a row just to see if I was really ready. I didn’t have that consistency and that made me sad, because I couldn’t do what I love most in the world: play football.”
