“He is going through one of the most difficult periods of his career, one where things are going wrong, such as his injury and the red card against Crotone,” representative Silvio Pagliari told Rai Sport.

“He is going through one of the most difficult periods of his career, one where things are going wrong, such as his injury and the red card against Crotone,” representative Silvio Pagliari told Rai Sport.
“It’s a rough time, but we are convinced it is just a passing phase.
“At the end of August, when the club rejected an offer from Everton, they called me in to renew his contract. We immediately reached an agreement, but then there was a halt and we’ll see what happens over the next few days. For the moment the situation is frozen.”
Is there no way back for Gabbiadini with Coach Maurizio Sarri’s tactics?
“People talk about the system or rapport, but the situation would’ve been different. We are seeking the spark that so far hasn’t been lit, now we’ll see what happens in the next month and a half, but we have no intention of leaving Napoli.
“This is an important club and he has proved himself worthy of it. When I talk about a spark, I mean on the pitch and nothing else. Having said that, we can’t wait around forever… we’ll see what happens over the next few months.”
Just how close was Gabbiadini to joining Everton and could he make the move in January?
“The club’s idea was to place him alongside Romelu Lukaku. The current Napoli system, on the other hand, is not suited to him. Anyway, it’s premature to talk about this, there are many games from here to January.”
