The Canarini finally scored their first goal of the season, a Camillo Ciano penalty, in their 2-1 home loss to Genoa this afternoon.

This week the President wrote an open letter to the fans that was critical of Coach Longo.
“I did reproach him for being a little too fundamentalist in his tactics, especially when things don’t go well,” President Maurizio Stirpe told Sky Sport Italia.

“He seems to have learned from that and we saw the results today, as Frosinone did not deserve to lose and I cannot blame the Coach for anything.

“Longo is as much to blame as the club and directors, but he is certainly not the main person responsible for this loss.

“However, the opening goal we conceded today, just as others we’ve conceded recently, suggest some players need to take responsibility and be put in the right condition to focus.

“The team will go into a training retreat indefinitely. It’s still early in the season and we have time to recover the situation.”
