Udinese's Stefano Colantuono says 'everything went wrong' against Carpi, but he won't make the same mistake against Frosinone.

The Zebrette are trailing substantially behind their objectives this season, and are currently only seven points away from the relegation zone.

“There are always errors on our side as well as on the opponent's, otherwise all matches would end 0-0,” Colantuono told the Press. “If you score it means that there was an error on the other side, and we made quite a few in the second half of the season.

“We also lacked continuity. Some people are saying that the team is already relegated, but there are 11 games to be played and everything still has to be decided.

“[Silvan] Widmer can hope to have a chance, as everyone else can. I never closed doors on anyone and Widmer himself played with some continuity at one point.

“Everyone in the squad this year had some playing time and the new signing [Andrija] Balic will find space too.

“The game against Carpi is the one that really conditioned our campaign. Our problems started there, when we failed that game.

“It's a shame, because we could have reached 30 points much earlier and had an easier time in Serie A.

“I hope we don't make the same mistake against Frosinone. We can't get this game wrong.

“[Duvan] Zapata? His long break affected him. After his injury he shouldn't have returned until after the season's end, but the staff did well in shortening that time.

“Zapata's particular physical build requires a certain time to recover, but right now he needs a friendly hand on his shoulder.

“Guillerme has a different body compared to Zapata and needs a much longer time to recover. His injury was serious.

“[Zdravko] Kuzmanovic cannot play in front of the defence because he is an attacking midfielder, like [Emmanuel] Badu but with different features.”

Colantuono was then asked whether his team was withdrawing into a ritiro, an isolated training camp usually established in times of crisis.

“Please, let's get rid of this word from our vocabulary. We're not heading for a ritiro, we're simply leaving ahead of schedule because of the distance between Udine and Frosinone.

“We had a ritiro at one point when the club decided it was for the best, but that's certainly not what we're doing now.”
