Italy’s World Cup opponents Costa Rica seem to be in some confusion as to their preparations for the tournament.

And ahead of the trip to Brazil, have confirmed that they will face Northern Ireland in Foxborough, Massachusetts on June 7 in a friendly.

However, according to Irish-based journalist Laure James, their Football Association are unaware of the proposed game at the Gillette Stadium.

A match against Japan on June 2 though, has been confirmed.
