Sebastien Frey or Salvatore Sirigu will join Genoa during the next seven days, Marassi chief Enrico Preziosi has suggested.

"The goalkeeping problem will definitely be resolved by the end of this week," Preziosi told Sky Sport Italia.

"We'll definitely sign a new goalkeeper and now we just have to see which is the right operation for us. I think he'll be Italian."

Genoa were expected to replace Eduardo, who has joined Benfica, with Inter goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

"We were chasing Viviano, but then he got injured," added Preziosi of the custodian who is set to be out for six months with a knee injury.

"Frey of Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”14″>Fiorentina could be one of the important 'keepers who we target, he knows Italian football well, but there is Sirigu of Palermo too.

"Marco Storari of Juventus” data-scaytid=”16″>Juventus? He's another great player, but I'd stop after the first two names mentioned…

"We're in no rush, we have to go with the transfer that is most convenient from a sporting and economical point of view."
