Rino Foschi has resigned as sporting director at Genoa after seven months in the role, with Pescara’s Daniele Delli Carri set to replace him.

Foschi, who had a two-month spell in the same role back in 2008, was appointed by Enrico Preziosi to assist in transfer matters.

However, the 66-year-old was reported recently as close to an agreement to move across to Cesena and today has seen confirmation of his departure from Marassi.

However, the 66-year-old was reported recently as close to an agreement to move across to Cesena and today has seen confirmation of his departure from Marassi.

“Genoa announce that today Rino Foschi has resigned as sporting director,” read a statement posted on Genoa’s official website.

“The company would like to thank Mr Foschi for his professionalism in order to achieve sporting objectives.”

Pescara’s Delli Carri is seen as Genoa’s likely option to replace Foschi, and recently the 41-year-old admitted that he would unlikely turn down an advance to return to Serie A with the Grifone.
