Benevento’s Sporting Director Pasquale Foggia reveals Fernando Llorente was close to joining the club in the summer.
"We are satisfied with what we have done,” he told Radio CRC on Monday.
“We proceeded with the negotiation to sign Llorente, but we could not close the deal because of problems with the compilation of the lists.
“Nevertheless, we are happy with our work. Our Scudetto is to survive in Serie A.”
Foggia did also praise the Streghe’s president Oreste Vigorito.

"He is a man and an executive from another time. It is also exciting to be in contact with Filippo Inzaghi, but during matches I do not go on the pitch otherwise we would end up fighting.”
Foggia, a former midfielder with 170 Serie A caps to his name, did also discuss Napoli’s chances to win the Serie A title this season.
“They can fight for the Scudetto. Napoli will be among the protagonists until the end. The club invested where reinforcements were needed".
