Fiorentina will use Sunday’s match against Torino as a chance to celebrate Gabriel Batistuta’s recent 50th birthday.

The iconic striker will be in the Tuscan city where he had the brightest seasons of his career.

He turned 50 on February 1, but will be honoured by a special celebration in Florence's Piazza della Signoria on Sunday evening, set up by the Mayor.

It will include the projection of his 50 greatest goals on to the walls of the city’s monuments and buildings.

Before that, Batigol will be the guest of honour at the Stadio Franchi for their Serie A match against Torino.

“It’s an emotional even, there are only a few days until the party in Florence and I just discovered they’ll be projecting my best goals,” wrote the Argentine on Facebook.

He wore the Viola jersey from 1991 to 2000, scoring 203 goals in 331 competitive appearances.
