The second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 will be at the Stadio Franchi in Florence on Thursday evening.

The first leg ended 1-1 with no crowd trouble in London, but last week’s chaos caused by Feyenoord supporters in Rome has authorities concerned.

The Dutch hooligans caused damage worth hundreds of thousands of Euros to historic monuments.

With this in mind, the police in Florence announced an extra 1,000 agents will be in the city with many protecting areas of historic interest.

“We are working to prevent what could happen in light of recent events,” said Questore Raffaele Micillo.

“We set out plans to follow all the movements of the fans and in parallel a group of agents will perform checks to avoid fans getting alcohol.”

It is customary on the day of a big game to ban the sale of alcohol in bars and supermarkets in the city.

The authorities warn there are 50 Spurs hooligans in particular who are causing concern if they travel to Florence.
