The gates have opened for this evening’s game between hosts Brazil and Croatia, which is due to kick off at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).
According to reports from local media, there was a fire at the stadium today when a generator burst into flames.
It was put out by firefighters and there were no injuries, but it’s suggested there is still no electricity in the VIP section.

There have been huge protests in the city ahead of the World Cup opener, as locals are angry at what they see as a waste of money to host the tournament.
There is an imposing police presence around the stadium, which is also known as the Arena Corinthians or Itaquerao.
