Reports suggest that Fiorentina and Captain Gonzalo Rodriguez are apart by around €0.7m in negotiations over a new contract.

Tuttosport reports that the Argentinian has asked for €3.5m per season excluding bonuses, which is what the 32-year-old currently recieves in salary.

The club however, are insisting on a reduction of a reduction of that figure to €2.8m annually.

Jose Iglesias, who represents the player, had already confirmed that Rodriguez was only asking for a deal that is equal to the current one.

The centreback is out of contract this summer, meaning that he is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January.

Reports have already gathered that Vincenzo Montella has been alterted to the situation and is keen to link up with his former player at current club Milan.
