Fiorentina boss Stefano Pioli insists his side will not change their style of ‘trying to outscore our opponents’ against Inter on Tuesday.

Fiorentina are Serie A’s second-highest scorers after five matchdays but face an Inter side who recorded last-gasp wins against Tottenham Hotspur and Sampdoria in their last two games.

“Every game is a test and you have to be prepared for them,” Pioli said at a Press conference.

“We must show our identity on the field, regardless of how strong our opponents are.

“We have to learn from the match against Napoli, where he played poorly in the second half, if we’re to do well against Inter. We need to play well for 95 minutes.

“The fact they’ve been winning games at the death poses extra danger to us as it highlights their ability to stay in the game.

“I’m concerned about their collective strength and mentality, so we’ll have to be good at countering their pressing.

“We’ll only have a chance if we’re consistent and precise in a technical sense. I’ll see if I make any changes tomorrow, but something will change because having three games so close together takes a lot out of you.

“We did well against SPAL, but now we’re thinking about tomorrow’s game, which is our fourth game in 10 days. We’ll try to give our best.

“We’ve done well so far, but we’re only at the start of the season and we haven’t achieved anything.

“We want to play our game and give our best, knowing the difficulties posed by Inter, a great team who are built for the Champions League.

“A front three is our way of playing, trying to outscore than our opponents. There’s been great team work, but we’ve been looking for players with quality and pace so we can always be a dangerous team.

“We’re an ambitious group and our ambition must be to win the next game. The objective is clearly to improve on our finish last season.

“Spalletti? We respect each other, he’s an excellent Coach and an excellent communicator. He does things differently to me.”
