Both these sides enjoyed excellent stars to the new Serie A season and these Fiorentina vs. Lecce predictions suggest that it will be the home side that continues their impressive form on match day two.
1 – Fiorentina to win – 8/15
2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 1/1
3 – Both teams to score – 21/20
4 – M’Bala Nzola to score at anytime – 6/5
5 – Fiorentina to win and both teams to score – 11/4
Fiorentina performed beyond expectations last season, reaching the Europa Conference League final and eventually qualifying for the same competition for this year. Vincenzo Italiano has been putting together a very interesting squad over the summer and everything went right against Genoa last week.
The Grifone fans may have put on a display to celebrate their club’s return to Serie A but it was Fiorentina’s day, claiming a 4-1 victory and finishing match day one of the 2023-24 campaign at the top of the table.
It is obviously very early days but it does look as though Fiorentina can compete again this year. Another win here should be on the cards and new signing M’Bala Nzola could be among the goal scorers. He looked good last week and is set to fit right in with the Viola attack.
Lecce will always look good, with their attacking style of play. Unfortunately, results do not always go their way, as they regularly come up against far wealthier Serie A sides. But two late goals last week against Lazio gave them all three points on the opening day of the season.
The Salentini’s positive tactics are the reason why they may be able to find the net once again this week at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. They may not have enough to take anything away from this one – but they will give it their all as always.
In all honesty, Lecce will probably be fighting against relegation again this year. But some good results at this stage of the season could go a long way to eventually assuring top-flight safety.

Fiorentina (4-2-3-1): Terraciano; Dodô, Milenković, Ranieri, Biraghi; Mandragora, Arthur Melo; González, Bonaventura, Brekalo; Nzola
Lecce (4-3-3): Falcone; Gendrey, Pongračić, Bashirotto, Dorgu; González, Ramadani, Rafia; Almqvist, Strefezza, Di Francesco
Although Sofyan Amrabat was named in Fiorentina’s European squad, the Moroccan could well be on his way out of the club and is unlikely to start again here. Jonathan Ikoné may also miss out because of injury and M’Bala Nzola should get the nod up front.
There is no real need for Eusebio Di Francesco to change around his Lecce starting XI after the impressive victory against Lazio last week. But he may consider playing his son Federico from the beginning against Fiorentina, after he scored the winner against the Biancocelesti.
