Fiorentina say they are “proud and excited” to have purchased the plot of land that will house their new training ground and club offices.

The Viola announced in a statement that they had bought around 62 acres of land in Bagno, on the outskirts of Florence, where they will build their new residence.

As well as a training ground and offices, Fiorentina also plan to install training pitches for the men’s and women’s first teams and youth teams.

“For the first time in Viola history, Fiorentina will have a club-owned training centre,” read the statement.

“With the men’s team, the women’s team and the youth academy all working together, this new structure will further the club’s development on the field and increase its overall value, enabling Fiorentina to aspire to become one of Europe’s most solid, avantgarde clubs in terms of organisation and facilities.”

President Rocco Commisso commented: “I am proud and excited to announce this new chapter in the history of our club.

“After buying the club on June 6, 2019, strengthening the team during the summer and entering the Mediacom sponsorship, we are now making another major investment which we believe is crucial for Fiorentina’s growth and will become an asset for the fans and the Florence region.

“I would like to thank the Guicciardini Corsi Salviati family, who has owned the land for more than 150 years, Veronica S.r.l. for its help, the Town Council and Mayor of Bagno a Ripoli Francesco Casini, as well as all the institutions which have welcomed and helped with the project and will continue to be fundamental to the construction of this state-of-the-art training centre.

“I hope that it will be possible to carry out the approval process for the construction of a new stadium just as quickly, as that would be another key step enabling Fiorentina to grow further.

“Since day one I have always said that I wanted to get things done quickly and the signing of this agreement is proof that when everyone wants to achieve something and works together, it is possible to do things fast and efficient.”
