Fiorentina are set to release Kevin Agudelo back to Genoa, who can then loan him out to newly-promoted Spezia.

The move was confirmed in a press conference this morning by Viola director of sport Daniele Pradè.

“It could be completed by the end of the day.”

Agudelo is a 21-year-old Colombian creative midfielder who joined Genoa from Atletico Huila last summer for €2.5m.

He was loaned to Fiorentina in January, with option to buy for €12m, but made only one start and two very brief substitute appearances.

The Tuscans have decided not to activate their option and returned him to Genoa.

Agudelo won’t be there for long, as he is going to be loaned out to Serie A newcomers Spezia.
