Fiorentina have unexpectedly emerged in the race for Fabiano Parisi and have reportedly overtaken the interested Juventus and Lazio.

The 22-year-old Italian left back shined this season for Empoli, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 33 Serie A appearances.

Juventus and Lazio have long been interested in Parisi but neither have come forward with a concrete offer for the Empoli talent this summer.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Fiorentina have decided to enter the race for Parisi and have overtaken Juventus and Lazio following a recent round of talks with Empoli.

The Viola are now working to find an agreement with the 22-year-old’s entourage, hoping to snap up the talented left back this summer.

Juventus are still interested in Parisi but are not currently in a position to pick up the Italian. In the meantime, they’ve been discussing a separate deal with Empoli involving midfielder Filippo Ranocchia, who could make the move to Tuscany in the coming weeks.
