Fiorentina are in talks with Arsenal over Lucas Torreira’s permanent move and will tie Gaetano Castrovilli down to a new contract.

Torreira joined La Viola on loan with an option to buy in the summer and the Tuscans can make his move permanent for €15m at the end of the season. Calciomercato.com reports talks between Fiorentina, the Gunners, and the player’s agent Pablo Bentancur are increasingly frequent as La Viola is determined to sign the midfielder permanently.

The 26-year-old has had a key role at the Artemio Franchi this season with four goals in 25 appearances.

La Viola directors are also negotiating a new deal for Gaetano Castrovilli, who has recently changed his agent, swapping Michelangelo Minieri with Alessandro Lucci.

The Italy international’s contract runs out in 2024 and according to Calciomercato.com, he will soon sign a new deal until 2026, seeing his salary raise from €1.4m to €2m per season. The 25-year-old has scored one goal in 20 Serie A appearances this term.
