Fiorentina midfielder Romulo has admitted that the club are aiming to reach the top three come the end of the season.

The Brazilian midfielder has stated that the Viola are hoping to challenge for Champions League qualification in May, and believes that with Vincenzo Montella in charge, they have every chance.

“Our first objective is to reach the Champions League,” he told Canale 10. “It will certainly be difficult, but this team can do it. I am happy to be here. The city is fantastic, as are the fans and the Coach is very good as well.”

He concluded by commenting on the defeat to Inter at San Siro on Sunday where, despite his first goal of the season, Romulo could not stop the Nerazzurri winning 2-1.

“I'm sad about the defeat against Inter,” he said. “The team deserved a positive result, but we need to keep on improving and avoid making the same mistakes.”
