Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso is ‘confident’ the Tuscans can beat West Ham in the Conference League Final but will also ‘need some luck.’

Vincenzo Italiano’s side will meet the Hammers in the Conference League Final in Prague tomorrow, Wednesday, June 7.

The Tuscans took off from Florence’s Peretola Airport in the early afternoon on Tuesday and Commisso spoke to Sky Sport Italia before leaving for Prague with the team.

“I’ve been here for four years. I am confident, the lads are fit and motivated. Let’s hope we can make it, we’ll need some luck as well,” he said.

He was joined by sporting director Daniele Pradé who praised his players. Fiorentina have also reached the Coppa Italia Final this season but lost to Inter two weeks ago.

“The group has always been united and deserves this chance. We’ve gone through tough times and now we are chasing a dream,” said Pradé.

“We had many problems before January, a lot of injuries and many things we didn’t know. Playing every three days it’s something you need to get accustomed to. We’ve gained experience and brought it to the pitch.”

Fiorentina have been waiting for their first major trophy since 2001 when they won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italia. Italiano’s men have finished 8th in Serie A this season with 56 points in 38 matches.

Gaetano Castrovilli trained separately from the rest of the group on Tuesday morning but joined the team on the plane to Prague and is expected to be available tomorrow.
