A statement from Fiorentina hints Coach Stefano Pioli could be fired, as there will be a summit over the next 48 hours.

The Viola have five draws and a defeat in their last six Serie A home games, after today’s shock 1-0 loss to relegation-threatened Frosinone.

“Following the serious defeat with Frosinone, the owners and directors of Fiorentina will reunite over the next 48 hours with the objective of analysing with clear heads the situation and identifying the measures to guarantee effort and hopefully results from the team for the final weeks of the season.

“We want to see the strong and promising team that we viewed so many times during the season.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, it’s less likely to be a dismissal – seeing as Pioli is expected to leave in June anyway – and more a training retreat for the squad.

They are practically out of the running for a Europa League spot, but could still qualify via the Coppa Italia.

Fiorentina drew the first leg of the semi-final 3-3 with Atalanta.
