Fiorentina are said to have cooled on the idea of bringing in Inter Coach Stefano Pioli for next season.

A series of disastrous results for the Nerazzurri culminated in a 5-4 defeat to the Viola on Saturday evening, with reports suggesting the Coach offered his resignation in the aftermath.

Whilst Inter officials have refused the request for now, La Repubblica suggest that the seeming lack of control over the dressing room has dissuaded Fiorentina from bringing Pioli in.

With the Tuscan club having confirmed that current boss Paulo Sousa will not be staying beyond the end of the season, the former Lazio man was favourite to take over along with Eusebio Francesco of Sassuolo.
