Fiorentina and West Ham are reportedly chasing Catania’s Argentinean striker Gonzalo Bergessio.

The 29-year-old has been in Sicily since January 2011, scoring 37 goals in 113 games for the club.

Following their relegation to Serie B, Bergessio is eager to get back into the Italian top flight.

He had already been linked with the Viola in January as a replacement for Giuseppe Rossi during the injury lay-off.

However, according to Tuttomercatoweb there is competition from West Ham, who are proposing a two-year deal with option for a third.

Bergessio’s contract expires in June 2015, so the price-tag will be minimal.
