The Dutch playmaker has been in an embittered contract feud with the Nerazzurri, after the club refused to play him following his reluctance to accept a reduced wage.

But the former Portuguese international has admitted that he wants it all put to bed, as well as commenting on their next Europa League opponents CFR Cluj.

“Seeing a situation like this is difficult for the team and for the player,” he told reporters “Hopefully it will be resolved in the best way possible.

“And then in February he can help the team move forward.

“But all that depends on the choice made by the Coach.
