Inter directors Luis Figo and Ernesto Paolillo want to win the Club World Cup “for the prestige of the competition.”

The Nerazzurri face Seongnam in the semi-final on Wednesday and a victory would see them take on Mazembe in the Final.

“I have already played in this competition twice, winning once, although it was different then as the Intercontinental Cup was just one match,” said Figo.

“The important thing remains the victory, as it gives you enormous prestige to win this competition.

“I have already played in this competition twice, winning once, although it was different then as the Intercontinental Cup was just one match,” said Figo.

“The important thing remains the victory, as it gives you enormous prestige to win this competition.

“We overcame the most difficult moments with injuries and negative results, so now we want a radical change for the Club World Cup.”

Director general Paolillo is also in Abu Dhabi for the tournament and gave Rafa Benitez a boost.

“The lads are training in a fantastic manner and I can see a similar team spirit to the one we had last season,” he told Inter Channel.

“The return of the players from injury also helped and the team feels the competition. It's really positive to see that determination in training as well.

“We must not underestimate our opponents. The President is on his way to Abu Dhabi and there is tension, but also curiosity to see how it all ends. We hope to bring this trophy back to Italy.”
