“Mancini has a four-year contract, with an exit clause after two if we don’t qualify for the European Championship,” which no-one wishes to happen,” continued the director general to Radio Anch’io Sport.
“What we’re experiencing today is what we sowed in the past, but unfortunately it takes at least six years to yield results in sport.
“Young players? They’re coming through. We must have stability, both in the youth sector and national team.
“This is also thanks to the clubs who have gone back to investing in young players. There’s a focus on young players, but we must respect the EU rules regarding the free movement of workers.
“We’re working on reserve teams in the Lega Pro, plus there are other investments being made.”
