The world governing body’s executive committee are meeting to vote on reforms in Zurich over two days.

The BBC has reported that police moved in on the Baur au Lac hotel last night, the same place where seven officials were arrested in May, and arrested two members as a US investigation into corruption continues.

The Swiss Federal Office of Justice have said that the two names will be released later today and that they are alleged to have accepted money for marketing rights connected to Latin American football events.

“A further two officials were arrested in Zurich today,” said the Swiss FoJ.

“They are being held in custody pending their extradition. According to the US arrest requests, they are suspected of accepting bribes of millions of dollars.”

FIFA have responded to the allegations today by saying they will ‘continue to cooperate fully with the US investigation as permitted by Swiss law, as well as with the investigation being led by the Swiss Office of the Attorney General.”
