Damiano Ferronetti is adamant he will play a part for Genoa this season following a move from Torino in July.

The 27-year-old did not make a single appearance for Torino last season, with injury issues forcing him to watch their entire Serie B promotion victory from the sidelines.

The 27-year-old did not make a single appearance for Torino last season, with injury issues forcing him to watch their entire Serie B promotion victory from the sidelines.

Deemed to be surplus to requirements the full-back moved to Genoa on transfer deadline day last week, and is almost ready make his debut for the Rossoblu.  

“How am I physically? There is still work to do but I hope to recover as soon as possible.

“My entire career has been marred by injuries, and last season was particularly bad for me. I want to make this my comeback season and do very well.

“My farewell in Turin is in the past now and is a closed matter for me, I am ready to do well at Genoa as we have a large squad and can achieve something good this season.”

The former Udinese” data-scaytid=”5″>Udinese defender, who has represented Italy since the age of 15, concluded by commenting on his former city rivals Juventus” data-scaytid=”15″>Juventus.

“How do you beat Juventus? The Bianconeri are a great team, the formation of [Antonio] Conte is binded by collective spirit and only when that is broken will they be beaten.”
