Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero urges Serie A teams to do pre-season in the areas affected by recent earthquakes.
Almost 300 people were killed in a quake in central Italy in August, and a series of powerful aftershocks hit last week, though mercifully no-one was killed.
“We can’t forget and abandon the people who are suffering as a result of the earthquake in central Italy,” Ferrero implored in an interview with Ansa.

“Every Serie A team should go to Valnerina for pre-season ahead of next season. I’ll propose it to the Lega Calcio.
“It would almost be a counter-attack against misfortune. We’d show that sport is stronger even than misfortune, and gives a clear sense of life.”
