Pesaro co-President Roberto Bizzotto was at Marassi for this weekend’s game with Parma, but says President Ferrero is nothing more than a figurehead.

“It was a wonderful day in Genoa, with the excitement of entering a Serie A stadium,” Bizzotto told Isenzagiacca.com.

“A beautiful experience, we take inspiration from the big clubs and try to understand all the mechanisms. We had talks with Atalanta and Bologna, but we preferred to focus on Sampdoria.

“Ferrero? He counts for nothing within the club, behind him there’s an important Genoa family which represents the heart.

“He’s salaried, an installed President who doesn’t invest. In fact, we have a minimal relationship with him.

“He’s a character to drive audiences and marketing, and he’s achieved that objective.

“If you want to talk seriously, you have to speak to the lawyer, Romei, or the other directors. That said, I told him we’re aiming for Serie B and we need an important player!

“I’ve told [Riccardo] Saponara to come and have fun in Pesaro and not look at the figures…”
