Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero try to calm the reports regarding internal issues among the board members after the resignation of his deputy Paolo Fiorentino.

The Vice-President decided to step down from his role on the board of the Blucerchiati, but Ferrero has claimed that there are no reasons to be concerned and all the noise around the club has come from “nothing”.

Samp are currently one point above the relegation zone, as their local rivals Genoa occupy the 18th in Serie A and the coming months will be very important for both sides sharing the Marassi.

After a heavy 5-1 defeat to Fiorentina, the news about the Vice-President has caused concern among the club’s faithful, but the patron has now done his best to calm the situation.

“The club is solid, and we have our feet firmly planted on the ground,” Ferrero told Telenord. “There was a lot of noise for nothing, only that a councillor resigned for personal reasons.

“I want to make an appeal: stay close to the team without destabilising the environment.”
