Ciro Ferrara insists he does not feel “in the balance” despite Sampdoria’s five consecutive defeats as they prepare to face Atalanta.

The pressure is growing on the Coach after a fan asked him to resign after a training session on Friday.

“I do not feel that I am in the balance,” assured Ferrara in a Press conference.

“The results are important, but we must not forget that Samp finished sixth in Serie B last season and confirmed a large part of that squad.

“Getting the best out of young players is a priority, but we cannot then complain when there are difficult moments. We have to commit to the project in every sense.”

Enzo Maresca and Pedro Obiang are back in the side after injury lay-offs.

“They are in good shape and available, but seeing as they’ve been out for a while I have to evaluate how long they can play.

“I am very happy with the squad at my disposal, as they are giving everything and I have no complaints. We will only go on the market in January if we have the possibility of reinforcing the side.”
