Italy Under-21 boss Ciro Ferrara and Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola have joined Marco Giampaolo on Sampdoria’s coaching shortlist.

The port club are expected to show Giuseppe Iachini the door – despite promotion – after openly holding talks with Rafael Benitez about the job.

The Spaniard, however, turned down the Marassi outfit’s three-year contract proposal which would have been worth €2m a season.

Former Ascoli tactician Giampaolo was then immediately linked, but Ferrara and Zola have now become possibilities.

Ferrara, who has a brief coaching past at Juventus” data-scaytid=”19″>Juventus, was also linked with the Pescara job recently before they hired Giovanni Stroppa.

Zola, meanwhile, was interviewed by Lazio” data-scaytid=”24″>Lazio last season but is still looking for a role after he was sacked by West Ham in the summer of 2010.
